Backpacker’s Maple-Pear Walnut Crisp

A lightweight, one-pot dessert for backpackers: tender pears, real maple syrup, and crunchy walnuts simmered together with instant oats. No oven, minimal cleanup, maximum comfort.

Ingredients

  • 2 medium pears diced
  • 1/3 cup maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup instant rolled oats
  • 1/4 cup walnuts chopped
  • Pinch salt

Instructions

  • Melt coconut oil in a small pot over medium heat.
  • Add diced pears, cinnamon, and maple syrup. Cook 5–6 minutes until pears are soft.
  • Stir in oats, walnuts, and salt. Cook 2–3 more minutes, stirring, until the mixture is thick and oats are tender.
  • Let cool slightly, then serve warm.

Notes

This packs ultra-light and can be cooked on any backpacking stove. Use instant oats for speed and minimal fuel. Eat straight from the pot for no-mess cleanup.
