Backpacking Cocoa Coconut Date Bars

A dense, naturally sweet, and energy-rich date bar for the trail—packed with cocoa, coconut, oats, and almonds. No cooking or baking required, just mix and go!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup pitted dates
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup shredded coconut unsweetened
  • 1/3 cup almonds raw or roasted
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 pinch sea salt

Instructions

  • Process dates, oats, coconut, almonds, cocoa, maple syrup, and sea salt in a food processor until sticky and combined.
  • Press mixture into a small pan lined with parchment. Flatten firmly.
  • Chill in cooler or at cool temp for 10 minutes. Cut into bars and store in a zip-top bag.
  • Bars keep for days and are trail-tough.

Notes

Bars are sturdy and quick to assemble for a backpacking trip. Store in a sealed bag for freshness on the trail.
