Backpacking Savory Nori Trail Rolls

Quick, no-cook rolls of rice, nori, and sriracha mayo—an umami-rich snack to stuff in your pack or enjoy at camp beside the lake.

Ingredients

  • 4 nori sheets
  • 1 cup cooked sushi rice cooled
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon sriracha
  • 1/2 cup matchstick carrots
  • 1/2 cup cucumber matchstick cut

Instructions

  • In a bowl, mix mayonnaise and sriracha.
  • Lay a sheet of nori flat. Spread a thin layer of rice on the bottom third.
  • Top with carrots and cucumber. Drizzle with sriracha mayo.
  • Roll up tightly and wrap in plastic to hold shape. Repeat with remaining sheets.
  • Slice rolls in half to serve.

Notes

Rice can be made at home and packed. These rolls are flexible—add tuna or smoked salmon for extra protein, or keep vegetarian for easy packability.
