Chilled Pineapple Ginger Agua Fresca

Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh pineapple chunks or canned in juice, drained
  • 1 inch fresh ginger peeled, thinly sliced
  • 3 cups cold water
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice fresh
  • 1 tablespoon agave nectar or honey
  • to taste ice cubes optional for serving

Instructions

  • Finely chop pineapple and ginger (or mash with spoon if no blender is available).
  • Add pineapple, ginger, lime juice, agave nectar, and water to a large jug or bottle.
  • Stir or shake vigorously to blend flavors.
  • Let steep for 1 minute; strain if desired.
  • Pour over ice cubes for extra chill at camp.

Notes

Pre-chop ingredients at home for quicker prep. Use a sturdy water bottle to shake and infuse. This drink travels well for picnics and trail stops. Discard ginger slices before serving if sharpness is too intense.
