Ingredients
2largeapplespeeled and diced
1/2cupold-fashioned oats
1/3cupbrown sugar
1/4cupall-purpose flour
1/2teaspoonground cinnamon
1/4cupcold buttercubed
1pinchsalt
Instructions
In a bowl, toss apples with half the cinnamon and a sprinkle of brown sugar. Divide among 6 foil muffin liners.
In the same bowl, mix oats, flour, remaining brown sugar, remaining cinnamon, salt, and cubed butter. Use your fingers to pinch together until crumbly.
Sprinkle topping over each apple portion.
Arrange liners in a Dutch oven. Cover and bake over medium campfire coals, with some coals on the lid, for 18-20 minutes until apples are bubbly and topping is golden.
Cool a few minutes before serving.
Notes
Using foil muffin liners makes these easy to serve and keeps the Dutch oven clean. Apples and topping can be prepped ahead for quick camp assembly.
