Fire-Roasted Spicy Edamame Pods

Whole edamame pods tossed with chili salt and flash-roasted in a skillet over the fire for a protein-rich, finger-licking snack.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups frozen edamame in pods
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  • Add olive oil to the skillet and heat over medium campfire coals.
  • Toss in frozen edamame, salt, chili flakes, and garlic powder.
  • Roast for 5-6 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pods are blistered and hot.
  • Serve warm—pop beans out of pods as you eat.

Notes

Edamame cooks fast, so watch the heat. Pods travel well in a cooler and require almost no prep.
