Foil Packet Fire Baked Pears with Honey & Spice

Halved pears roasted in foil with honey, cinnamon, and a touch of ginger. They turn caramelized and soft, making a refined, hands-off dessert that's perfect for cool evenings outdoors.

Ingredients

  • 2 ripe pears halved and cored
  • 4 tsp honey
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground ginger
  • 2 tbsp chopped walnuts

Instructions

  • Lay out 4 squares of foil. Place a pear half, cut side up, on each.
  • Drizzle each with honey and sprinkle with cinnamon and ginger. Top with chopped walnuts.
  • Fold foil around each pear half, sealing tightly.
  • Place packets on hot coals or grill grate and roast for 18-20 minutes, until pears are soft and caramelized.
  • Let cool slightly before opening. Serve warm.

Notes

Choose pears that are ripe but still firm so they hold shape. For extra flavor, add a splash of vanilla extract or bourbon before baking.
