Ingredients

  • 1 crisp apple such as Honeycrisp or Fuji
  • 2 tablespoons tahini
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons pumpkin seeds raw or roasted
  • 1 tablespoon sunflower seeds raw or roasted
  • Pinch sea salt

Instructions

  • In a small skillet over medium heat, toast the pumpkin and sunflower seeds for 1-2 minutes, stirring frequently, until fragrant and lightly golden. Remove and set aside.
  • Slice the apple into thin wedges, removing the core.
  • In a small bowl, blend tahini and maple syrup until smooth and creamy.
  • Arrange apple slices on a plate or camp tray. Drizzle with maple-tahini sauce.
  • Sprinkle toasted seeds, cinnamon, and a pinch of sea salt over the top.
  • Serve immediately, or pack apple slices and sauce separately for on-the-go snacking.

Notes

Pack sliced apples in a container to keep them crisp; bring the sauce and seeds in separate small containers for easy, mess-free assembly trailside.
