Northern Woods Cranberry Spruce Spritz

This wild-foraged inspired spritz combines tart cranberry juice and fragrant spruce tips (or rosemary) for a refreshing, woodland-scented sparkling drink—perfect for sipping around the fire pit.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups cranberry juice unsweetened or lightly sweetened
  • 4 sprigs fresh spruce tips or rosemary
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice fresh
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup or honey, to taste
  • 2 cups sparkling water chilled
  • 1 cup ice cubes

Instructions

  • Gently bruise spruce tips or rosemary with the back of a spoon to release aroma.
  • In a pitcher, combine cranberry juice, lemon juice, and maple syrup. Stir well.
  • Add sparkling water and ice, then add the spruce tips and stir gently.
  • Pour into glasses and serve with a sprig for garnish.

Notes

Spruce tips can be foraged in spring (ensure proper identification) or sub with rosemary. Chill the spritz using creek water or in a cooler for best results.
