Instructions
Pour pear juice into a small pot or kettle and add ginger slices, cinnamon sticks, cloves, and star anise.
Set over low flames or a camp stove and bring just to a simmer. Do not let boil.
Stir in brown sugar or maple syrup and lemon juice, then simmer gently for 10–15 minutes to infuse flavors.
Remove from heat. Strain out spices and ginger if desired.
Pour hot cider into mugs and garnish with thin fresh pear slices.
