Ingredients

  • 1 cup plain kefir chilled
  • 3/4 cup mixed wild berries fresh or frozen, plus extra for garnish
  • 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 1/4 cup cold water
  • 1/2 cup ice cubes

Instructions

  • Combine kefir, wild berries, honey, cardamom, water, and ice in a blender or lidded jar.
  • Blend (or shake vigorously, mashing berries first) until smooth and frothy; add more water if needed to reach desired consistency.
  • Pour into chilled camp cups and garnish with a few extra whole berries and a dusting of cardamom, if desired.
  • Serve immediately for best flavor and probiotic benefits.

Notes

Keep ingredients chilled in your cooler for creamy, refreshing results. If no blender, mash berries well and shake ingredients in a jar for a rustic lassi with extra berry texture. Makes a nourishing post-hike refresher or portable breakfast drink.
