Original Date: 2007-08-08
Serves: 1-2
Prep Time: 1-30m
Difficulty: easy
Backpacking: No
Ingredients
- 1 package ground beef (or cut up hotdogs, brats, etc)
- 2 potatoes
- 1 can mushrooms
- 1 can corn
- 1 onion
- olive oil or butter
- tinfoil
- Block of cheese cut into slices, or shredded cheese
Instructions
Tear off 2 slices of tinfoil per camper. Rub butter or olive oil on inside layer of foil. Layer potatoes on bottom, then onions, beef, corn, mushrooms, and a slight amount of cheese (too much cheese and it will burn and stick to foil and you will lose precious cheese!)
Wrap ingredients like a burrito in inner, then outer layers of foil. Place on hot coals of campfire. Listen for the sizzling of your delicious foil dinner. Cook about 15 minutes, turning your dinner about 3 or 4 times so all sides get cooked. It's done when the potatoes are tender.
Open carefully (the foil cools pretty fast) and deposit foil dinner in the dish of your choice. Now's the time to add a lot of extra cheese and any seasonings of your choice. Enjoy!
